Note-taking
Below you will find three different examples of note-taking styles you may want to emulate.

Essay Writing
Below are resources to help with essay prep and organization.

TrackClass: An online student organizer. You can use this website to organize your deadlines, store notes, and send yourself reminders by email or text message.

Soshiku: Similar to TrackClass, "a simple but powerful tool that manages your high school or college assignments. Soshiku keeps track of when your assignments are due and can even notify you via email or SMS."

Glogster: A site that you can use as a replacement for poster board presentations in class- with images, text, video, and music embedded.

Prezi: If you need to do a presentation- especially one that does not have too much text or too many slides- Prezi is much more interesting to look at than Powerpoint.

Evernote: An organization system that allows you to use your smartphone, tablet, and/or computer to organize notes, web information, images, etc. to access anywhere. Evernote syncs across platforms, so all you notes remain up to date everywhere you go.

Quicklyst: A free note taking system that "provides a simple outline template that you can use to take notes. There are two neat features of Quicklyst that really stand out. First, you can do basic web searches within the framework of taking notes.... [A second] useful feature offered by Quicklyst is the option to search within your notes.... Quicklyst can be accessed from your computer, your Kindle, your iOS device, or your Android device. You can also download and print your notes from Quicklyst."

College Search Resources:
  • College Grazing: Another strangely named resource, but good information to help your college search.
  • Egiate: "Egiate (as in 'coll-egiate') is the first interactive 3D and Maps-based school search site. Search for schools by name, location, scene, weather, school size, and more. Egiate provides in depth profiles of more than 4800 schools and navigates hundreds in 3D."
  • ScholarPro: ScholarPro is a service that helps students locate and apply for scholarships that match their qualifications. To find the scholarships that they're most likely to have a chance of receiving, students complete a profile on ScholarPRO. The more information a student supplies in his or her profile the more accurate the search results are going to be. Students can apply for the scholarships on their own or use the ScholarPRO service to apply.
